Job Description:

LiveData is looking for a hands-on, energetic, and highly adaptable Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team.  You will be an integral part of a team effort to take our existing internal and external testing, release, and deployment processes and tools to a new level of excellence. 

You will work closely with software developers, Customer Success staff, Product Management, and our system integration partners to test our hybrid AWS cloud and on-premises solutions.

The ideal candidate is a fast learner and is energized by helping team members succeed in the development of the highest quality software possible. He or she will have worked in an Agile/Scrum development environment and employed best practices to ensure quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Review Functional & Technical requirements, specifications, technical design documents, and end-user documentation to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing, including both back-end and front-end testing of entire systems, subsystems, and interfaces to other systems
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Contribute to testing areas such as Data, Functional, Security, Accessibility, Integration, Internationalization, Localization, Performance, Installation, and Browser/OS testing
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using industry-standard automation tools
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing 
  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Create traceability and requirements coverage matrices to ensure the quality of the features under test 
  • Set up and maintain test data and test environments
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  • Verify deployments for both major, minor, and patch releases
  • Monitor and report to management and/or technical lead on project status, identify issues that may impede the attainment of goals, recommend and implement corrective measures 
  • Observe Agile/Scrum methodologies and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies
  • ‘Own’ the assigned project and stay on top of all project activities, issues, risks, deliverables, milestones, and dependencies

This role can be on-site, hybrid, or fully remote, but with a preference for local candidates.

Skills, Experience & Education Needed:

Required:

  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance‬
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Postman, Swagger, etc.)
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and familiarity with a scripting language (Python, JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Git/GitHub
  • Familiarity with test repository tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, etc.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, small team environment  
  • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills 
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement 
  • Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills and attention to detail 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of, or experience in, the field of healthcare software development/QA a plus
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
