Job Description:

LiveData is seeking an insightful Data Scientist to advance, support, and refine our product development effort. You should have solid analytics skills and a demonstrated ability to use data to optimize real-world processes. If data tells you a story, and you can use it to visualize, design, and implement solutions, you could be the impact player we need!

LiveData engineers develop surgical planning and coordination solutions that allow surgeons and hospitals to accurately plan and then safely perform surgery. Our solutions leverage the intricacies and relationships of day-of-surgery data to optimize hospital staff and resources for the most efficient and safest patient surgical journey. This allows hospitals and surgery centers to leverage their most profitable resource: the Operating Room (OR) suite.

Using AWS technology, we’ve built our perioperative system of engagement to seamlessly interface with major Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to offer OR staff the best possible user experience for capturing and communicating perioperative documentation. LiveData affords nurses time to do what they do best: provide unparalleled day-of-surgery patient care while addressing their growing EHR documentation burden.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our customer data and software development team to optimize the way our surgical scheduling software performs in environments where staffing shortages, patient cancellations, and delays consistently complicate surgical scheduling
  • Understand what our customers want, what problems need to be solved, and how our rich dataset can be applied.
  • Maintain and enhance our customer surgical data warehouse
  • Work with the product team to propose meaningful, data-driven, customer-focused solutions

This role can be on-site, hybrid, or fully remote, but with a preference for local candidates.

Skills, Experience & Education Needed:

Required:

  • 3+ years of Data Science, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Data Visualization, use of Tableau, and constraint-based Solvers
  • Experience bringing disparate data (financial, clinical, patient, operational, claims, etc.) across multiple systems into a consolidated, holistic view to develop actionable intelligence
  • Experience with  ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) and consolidation of healthcare data into a data warehouse or lake
  • Ability to assess and improve data quality using algorithmic data mapping, natural language processing, and other approaches.
  • Experience developing ETL strategies with, e.g. AWS Glue, that improve inconsistent data across EHRs, making them as similar as possible
  • Experience with  SQL databases

Preferred:

  • Startup experience (early-stage preferred!)
  • Prior experience in a high-growth start-up environment in the healthcare field.
  • Prior hospital healthcare domain experience and interest in healthcare are plusses.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s level degree (or equivalent.
  • HIPAA knowledge and a sophisticated understanding of data privacy governance
