LiveData RTI Release 5.0

LiveData, Inc. is pleased to present its next generation of real-time monitoring, executive dashboard, and data historian solutions: LiveData RTI Release 5.0.

Customers know our software for its ability to capture and deliver real-time data across diverse systems, data structures and protocols. LiveData Server and LiveData ICCP Server have become the trusted real-time middleware solutions of choice among electric power utilities and manufacturers.

Advancing LiveData's unique real-time integration architecture, LiveData RTI Release 5.0 is the first in a new category of technology called "smart integration." Smart integration addresses the six key problems in integrating real-time systems, by giving users the ability to:

  • Establish real-time, bi-directional data flows between any intelligent device, application and IT system

  • Monitor and respond in real-time to rapidly changing, complex combinations of operational and IT conditions

  • Visualize the current state of complex situations, through highly graphic, continuously updated, web-based dashboards

  • Synthesize all of the information relevant to a given situation, bridging the gap between real-time operations and IT systems

  • Archive real-time data with precise time synchronization, so that any operation or occurrence can be recreated and analyzed at any time

  • Easily understand and change rules for data flow, analysis and response.

LiveData RTI Release 5.0 is at the heart of LiveData's newly announced OR-Dashboard™ System and the recently deployed "Operating Room of the Future" at Massachusetts General Hospital .

Our software delivers real-time data to monitor and manage power generation, transmission and distribution systems around the world, at some of the world's largest public utilities, as well as at smaller cooperative and municipal power companies. Manufacturing organizations like Scania and Ford have used LiveData technology to manage high precision production lines and keep them moving.

LiveData RTI Release 5.0 Product Family

LiveData RTI Release 5.0
is a suite of software products and capabilities that build upon one another to offer a complete smart integration platform.

LiveData RTI Server
, the core of LiveData RTI Release 5.0, is a complete smart integration software platform. The RTI Server collects, transforms, and delivers real-time data from tens, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of points, to diverse systems and applications — synthesizing all relevant information for complex operations and enabling rapid response. A real-time application server, LiveData RTI Server integrates and orchestrates applications that operate on data as it flows. The LiveData RTI Server includes the LiveData Dashboard, LiveData Protocol Server, and LiveData RTI Application Development Environment.

LiveData Dashboard presents mission-critical data to anyone authorized to view or manage an ongoing operation or process who needs to know what is happening now. LiveData Dashboard provides the highly visual, graphic user interface that enables users to monitor virtually any activity for which data is generated from any web-enabled device (a PC, laptop, or PDA with a web browser and access to the organization's Intranet). Requiring no client-side installation, LiveData Dashboard integrates easily with the user organization's web portal of choice. A complete web portal is included for organizations that prefer to set up a separate portal to support monitoring services.

LiveData Protocol Server
provides the real-time data engine for the LiveData RTI Server, building upon LiveData's real-time integration architecture developed over the past fifteen years. The LiveData Protocol Server captures, models and delivers datastreams across diverse source and destination protocols and data structures, preserving all data attributes and providing exceptionally fine time resolution and synchronization. Bi-directional communication enables control functions to be directed back to connected intelligent devices. LiveData supports numerous medical systems protocols, including HL7 and IEEE 1073 MIB, and all major utility protocols, including ICCP / TASE .2, OPC / IEC 61850, DNP 3.0, and MultiSpeak. LiveData also supports numerous proprietary protocols, including Modbus, Modbus Plus, PG&E, and Allen-Bradley.

The LiveData Protocol Server extends the capabilities of the LiveData Server and LiveData ICCP Server , providing an upgrade path to LiveData RTI Server and the addition of data visualization. Data managers can now easily create dataflows graphically, see data sources and destinations, drill down on point properties, and verify that data flows are functioning properly.

LiveData Historian
, an application running on the LiveData RTI Server, archives real-time data easily, efficiently, and securely. LiveData Historian enables users to capture all of the data relevant to any given operation as that operation progresses through time. All data ― measurements, video clips, graphics ― can be archived, directed to other applications for analysis, or used to recreate and play back important events. Time series resolution can be exceptionally fine (less than one millisecond) and is synchronized across all archived elements.

High performance software supports simultaneous archiving of tens, thousands, even hundreds of thousands of data streams. LiveData Historian supports standard SQL access and portal-based querying. An ODBC driver and SOAP interface enable programmatic access by any third-party application. LiveData utilizes a standards-based data storage structure, implements advanced data compression techniques, and supports RAID, SAN and NAS storage solutions from leading storage system vendors.

LiveData RTI Application Development Environment, delivered with the LiveData RTI Server, dramatically speeds real-time application development and implementation. LiveData supports industry standards and open interfaces, including XML / SOAP / Web Services, facilitating the use of third-party applications and tools. Leading scripting languages and development environments are supported, including Python,VBScript, JavaScript, Perl and .NET. Built-in functions provide a broad range of data operations, including polling, queuing, flow control, event handling, time stamping, on-the-fly batching, and database connection retry.
