Gateway to Energy and Reserve Markets

LiveData RTI Server provides the key linkage between generation plant systems and energy/ancillary service markets run by Independent Transmission System Operators (ISOs).The ISOs are providing new markets for operating researves—Regulation, Spinning, and Supplemental—as well as energy. LiveData has the software and expertise necessary for connecting to these markets and bidding underused capacity.

LiveData bridges the technical divide between ICCP (Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol) and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol, an XML protocol) used by the market systems and the protocols used by most DCS/SCADA systems. DCS/SCADA systems therefore have the capacity to send meter data and receive dispatch and AGC (Automatic Generation Control) signals as required by the markets, as well as provide functionality for bidding in day-ahead and real-time markets.

Customer Example: Fox Energy Center, GE Financial Services

LiveData RTI Server exchanges real-time data with the Midwest ISO (MISO) for capacity marketing.  Supporting the Inter-control Center Communications Protocol, the RTI Server also enables users to send meter data and receive dispatch and AGC signals as the market requires.Image
