At the conclusion of the Spring PeriOp Management Course, attendees will be able to:

  • Evaluate various OR organizational and management structures utilized by other healthcare institutions and determine which is the most practical for your organization.
  • Describe how information pertaining to the location and status of patients, staff and equipment can be managed and communicated in the OR suite and how to optimize this process.
  • Understand the guidelines of several key external regulatory organizations and how to successfully integrate these into your OR procedures and policies.
  • Explain how clinical simulation training for staff can be used to improve patient safety and outcomes in the OR.
  • Describe how to optimize charge capture and equipment purchasing.
