Complying with SCIP Guidelines

Real-time tools to monitor and facilitate compliance with SCIP guidelines are offered with LiveData OR-Dashboard.

Tools for carrying out documentation requirements include reminders, prompts, timers, and relevant data—on full display during appropriate phases of the perioperative process, as shown in the example below.

LiveData OR-Dashboard generates real-time reports on demand, ensuring that information is available for analysis and review. Documentation errors can be immediately corrected, thereby improving reimbursement opportunities.

Example: Antibiotic Administration

Prompt: Administer Antibiotic Prior to Surgery

A reminder to record antibiotic administration appears on the Progress Log as soon as the patient enters the OR.

At this point, the team is preparing to carry out the Joint Commission mandated timeout procedure and other tasks associated with the “Briefing” phase just prior to surgery.

Display of Antibiotic Data

As soon as the information is recorded, the following data appears in the dashboard Progress Log:

  • Name of antibiotic
  • Dosage
  • Time of Administration

TimerImage

Upon documentation, a timer is also shown, indicating how much time has elapsed since the last dosage. This is particularly useful for long surgeries, when an additional administration may be required.

Reminder: Missing Documentation

If antibiotic administration was not documented prior to the start of surgery, a notification  is posted on the dashboard's Critical Information panel. This remains on display until the antibiotic information is recorded or the case ends.
