Dawn L. Tenney Will Present "Transforming the Perioperative Nurse's Practice and Work Environment" at LiveData Breakfast
CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts, September 20, 2007 – LiveData, Inc., a leader in real-time data integration and display technology, will hold an informational breakfast to discuss the transformation of the practice and work environment of perioperative nurses, in San Diego, on October 5. Conducted in conjunction with OR Manager magazine’s conference, Managing Today's OR Suite, the breakfast meeting will feature a presentation by Dawn Tenney, RN, MSN, Associate Chief, Perioperative Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The conference will feature outstanding speakers and relevant breakout sessions. Besides being a supporting exhibitor at the conference, LiveData will host the breakfast, which will include a first-hand discussion about LiveData OR-Dashboard and the impact of visual integration technology on OR workflow at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The conference is October 3–5 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, California. The LiveData breakfast is Friday, October 5, 6:45–7:45 a.m. Preregistration is suggested as space is limited.
Attendees at the breakfast will learn how automating the presentation of vital patient information and patient safety procedures influences perioperative nursing and the effectiveness of the entire OR team. Tenney will discuss MGH's approach to improving OR team communication, situational awareness, and the quality of patient hand-offs, particularly the transition to PACU.
LiveData OR-Dashboard captures key information about the patient and operation and presents it on a single large-screen display on the operating room wall; and should the institution require, remotely via a secure Internet connection. The system works across diverse vendors’ systems, medical devices and patient monitors, gathering and synthesizing data in real-time, and enabling staff to take in the state of the patient and operation at a glance.
LiveData OR-Dashboard was first deployed at the MGH Operating Room of the Future last fall, having been developed through collaboration among the LiveData team, MGH, and CIMIT. The team worked over two years to evolve and deliver the integration software, resulting in a unique, leading edge system that is being deployed at additional operating rooms in the hospital and other medical centers nationwide.
