This year's annual symposium of the Center for Connected Health (formerly Partners Telemedicine) is entitled  "Building the Connected Health Economy: Innovation, Implementation and Investment." It will feature prominent speakers, panelists, and moderators, offering an unprecedented opportunity for a rich exchange of ideas on key aspects of the use of communications technologies in healthcare. This Symposium will draw upon the expertise of several renowned chairs, including

• David Brailer, formerly the first National Coordinator of Health Information Technology and now head of Health Evolution Partners, a VC firm with $700M in funds to invest, will discuss new efforts to improve quality and efficiency in health care.
• David Cutler, Otto Eckstein Professor of Applied Economics in the department of economics at Harvard, and associate dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.  He’s going to discuss business viability, return on investment, and revenue channels.
• Adam Darkins of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Mark Carroll, Director of Telemedicine at the Indian Health Service, and Hon Pak of the Department of Defense will talk about direct federal government programs.
• Doug Johnston of Partners’ Center for Information Technology Leadership (CITL) will discuss CITL’s new research on ROI and telehealth.

As a symposium co-chair, John Cullinane will be moderating for the panel "Shifts in the Mix of Public and Private Payers, the Quest for Funding, and Other Challenges in Store for US Health Insurance." (Monday, 11:15)

He will also participate in the opening panel, "Interaction with the Keynote: Observations, Reflections, Debate, and Audience Participation." (Monday 8:05)
