Cullinane finds telemedicine-friendly markets in Europe, Asia

It's more than the luck of the Irish that has enticed one Cambridge-based technology company to expand in Northern Ireland. That country's system reform, combined with its burgeoning health-care technology industry, have lured LiveData Inc. to pursue expanding its business to the Emerald Isle.
Indeed, while telemedicine is a growing market in the United States, local companies are finding even faster growth abroad.

"In the transformation of global medicine, linking our surgeons with this technology is definitely the wave of the future," said John Cullinane, LiveData's chairman of the board. 

As telemedicine grows, New England tech companies such as LiveData are expanding internationally or have established operations overseas already.

"We're part of a much bigger trend beyond Boston," said the company's CEO, Jeffrey Robbins. Read more >
