Director, Software Engineering, Healthcare

Description:

LiveData is looking for a dynamic, hands-on, detail-oriented, and self-driven Director of Software Engineering to run the Healthcare engineering team. The Director of Software Engineering will be leading, nurturing, and growing agile/scrum teams who design, develop, and deliver mission-critical healthcare IT solutions to help hospitals deliver the best care to their patients. These solutions help surgeons and staff manage the dynamic environment of the perioperative suite to improve patient safety, increase efficiency, optimize utilization, and enhance patient and staff satisfaction.

Our enterprise level software solutions are built on the Microsoft stack, and delivered to customers both on premise and as a cloud-based SaaS solution. The Director of Software Engineering will work closely with the Director of Product Management to help develop and maintain the product roadmap, define release schedules, define user stories, prioritize the backlog, plan sprints, attend scrums and train and coach scrummasters, run retrospectives, and closely track and manage work to ensure we deliver value to customers on time and with a great quality of output. The Director of Software Engineering will also work closely with Client Success team members to support client deployments, and handle and resolve escalated client support issues on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of a distributed, cross functional team of develpers, client service engineers, software quailty assurance engineers, and DevOps engineers to deliver scheduled software releases to customers on-time and with a high quality of output
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and deployment of cloud-based enterprise software solutions
  • Work closely with the Director of Product Management to create product roadmaps and release planning at the strategic level, plan and execute sprints at the tactical level (including attending and running scrums, estimating work, and running retrospectives) 
  • Train and coach the team in agile and scrum best practices with a continuous improvement mindset, including defining actionable user stories, breaking down tasks into manageable chunks, identifying and managing cross dependencies, developing work estimates, and keeping communications lines wide open for team members who are closely collaborating on time-critical initiatives
  • Drive measurable improvements in team velocity in delivery of new features, and in code quality via code review and other mechanisms 
  • Work with Client Success team members to support client implementations and ongoing technical customer support
  • Introduce, develop, and maintain tools, practices, and processes to help the organization scale including best in class architecture, a mature software development lifecycle, test and release automation, and team productivity
  • Work with senior management as well as customers and channel partners to understand customer needs and wants on an as-needed basis
  • Hire, nurture, and grow the team to develop a world-class enterprise software organization, and to help team members reach their full potential as software development professionals

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial software development, with at least 2 years of experience as a manager/director of software development teams for complex software applications
  • Experience working with a team using an Agile, scrum methodology
  • Experience managing remote and/or offshore development teams
  • Experience developing and deploying enterprise-grade software in the cloud with a Microsoft-based technology stack
  • Expertise in JavaScript Frameworks, C, C++, C#, Python, and .NET
  • Experience developing and delivering large scale, commercial, web and mobile software applications with a strong user interface component
  • Proven track record for building and developing motivated and productive development teams
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Expertise in software development lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, the field of healthcare IT is a great plus

Sales Engineer - Utilities

Description:

We are looking for a creative, resourceful, results-driven Sales Engineer looking to take on the responsibility and share in the upside of a sales position.  The candidate should have the desire and talent to sell our SmartGrid and Utility software solutions. Working with the General Manager, you will help drive the growth of LiveData Utilities. You need to understand our customers’ applications and successfully engage them in a consultative sales process.

This position will have growing responsibility as the candidate gains experience with our customers and products. You will be responsible for a wide breadth of sales functions, including lead creation, lead nurturing, quote/proposal generation, and ongoing account management.

We are a growing business in an established entrepreneurial company with a talented management team.  Your success, and the success of the company, will be tied to growing the sales of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact with prospective customers via phone, email and as required in person
  • Gain prospective customers’ confidence that you understand their solution requirements and that the LiveData Utilities’ solution is the best choice for them and their company
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing customers
  • Meet or exceed sales goals
  • Travel to customers’ sites and conferences as required (up to 25% travel)
  • Work with marketing to maintain robust lead pipeline
  • Stay current with industry trends 

Qualifications:

  • An insatiable desire to interact with and sell solutions to our utility customers 
  • BA/BS degree 
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems/technologies: SCADA, Wonderware, LabView DCS, OMS, or other related utility/energy control and systems
  • Experience with one or more of the following protocols desired: ICCP, DNP, Modbus, OPC
  • Evidence of successful sales skills in any realm (baseball cards sales, charity fundraisers, lemon aide stands and past utility OT software sales experience are all interesting to us)
  • Excellent communications skills including great listening, speaking, and writing skills
  • Interest in renewable energy, SmartGrid, and other energy technologies is a big plus

  • Up to 25 % travel required
